If you're looking for something different and fun to play, I've got the perfect tournament for you! Our upcoming WaterCrazy Open is as fun and entertaining as it sounds. It's a "cross country" format event. Meaning, players will play from one tee box, but finish on a different green. For example, hole 3 of this event is played from the tee box of hole 5 to the green of hole 16. It involves strategy and a little luck. The format will also be a two person scramble, so choose your partners wisely. See the picture below for an example of how the course will be played. I hope to see you there! 2014 Spring Golf Tournaments in Fort Worth, TX
First off, thank you to everyone who played in our 2013 events. It was a very successful year and we had some new champions as well as some repeats. While all the tournaments for 2013 will be repeated in 2014, we did add one new tournament this year in our March Madness event. We'll get to that later!
To start off February on a cold note, our first tournament is the Frostbite Open scheduled for February 8th at 9AM. The format is a two person "modified" reverse scramble played from the white tees. In a true reverse scramble, the worst shot is played every time. Unfortunately this format is too brutal and takes forever to finish. We've modified it where you will play a reverse scramble to the green and once one ball is on the green you're safe. Meaning when you or your partner hit a ball on the green, you can play a traditional scramble format into the hole from there. Cost of the event is only $50 and includes green fee, cart and a warm up basket of balls.
The next event will be our March Madness Golf Tournament scheduled for "selection day" March 16 and may have the biggest prize of them all. We're giving away a Gold Membership valued at over $1800 to the winner of the bracket challenge associated with the event, as well as many great prizes to the winners of the event. The format of the event will be a traditional four person scramble and will be played from the blue tees. Shot gun begins at 1:00PM and cost of the event is only $100 per player and includes your bracket challenge entry, green fee, cart, warm up basket of balls, dinner after play, and raffle ticket for prizes.
Our Waterchase Master's event will be the third tournament this spring. Have you ever wanted to wear the "green jacket" like Tiger and Phil? This could be your chance! We have our own version of the jacket which the champion will put on after play. The fun thing about the Waterchase Master's is after Saturdays round and starting with the lowest net score, players will pick a player from the actual PGA Tour Master's event to represent their 2nd round score. They will use that player's Final round score in the PGA event to determine what their 2nd round score is. This allows everyone in the event to go home and watch the Masters on Sunday and have some extra incentive to cheer a player of their choice on. The event is fun for all skill levels and gives everyone a chance to win. It will be held on Saturday, April 12th with a 2:30PM shot gun and cost is only $50 per person.
As always, every winner of every Waterchase event in 2014 will be invited to play in our Tournament of Champions to be held in late December. 2013's Tournament of Champions winner was Phil Austin with a gross score of 73. I hope to see you out here for all of these great events. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to post them in this blog. I welcome any ideas for future upcoming events as well.

Waterchase Golf Club
I'd like to personally welcome you to the new Waterchase Golf Club website. Home of Fort Worth's best premium public golf course. On our new website, you'll find many new great features and more simple design. Some of the great new features include a new "course tour" page with overhead map allowing you to get exact yardages from any two locations on the course. We've also made a better upcoming events calendar, simplified our E-Club registration, and took away the log-in button at the top. On our old site you needed two usernames and passwords to access the website and the online tee times. Now, you will only need one username and password to access our tee sheet.
We've also added this blog and I will update it weekly with new articles on golf related topics, swing tips, and course management. I welcome any comments and questions. If there's a certain topic or swing tip you're looking for, let me know and I'll try and cover it in a future article. Enjoy the new site!
